Student Outcomes

B.E.C.E Pass Rate

The Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in Ghana is an examination administered by the Ghana Education Service under the Ministry of Education. This examination is taken by students after completing Junior High School, typically at age 15 or 16, and serves as a transition examination to Senior High School.

The BECE assesses the students in the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, and three electives from a range of options such as French, Religious and Moral Education, Ghanaian Language and Culture, Home Economics, Visual Arts, and Information and Communication Technology.

The results of the BECE play a significant role in determining the type of Senior High School and the study track (general education, vocational, technical, or agricultural) that a student will be placed into.
